How to submit a lunchtime workshop proposal for the Annual Meeting
Share |

Deadline: July 31, 2017

Lunchtime workshops are sessions intended to convey specific knowledge or skills. These sessions are not appropriate for the presentation of formal research talks. These workshops are more interactive and informal than formal talks, and they can involve extended discussion as well as hands-on training. Workshops may involve one or several leaders/presenters. A strong workshop proposal will make clear what knowledge, skills, tools, or insights participants might expect to gain from the session.

If you have a workshop proposal which you would like to have considered for the Psychonomic Society’s 58th Annual Meeting to be held on November 9-12, 2017 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, please follow these guidelines:

Eligibility & Submission Requirements

  • The proposal should include a maximum one-page overview of the rationale for the workshop and include:

    • A list of potential speakers and brief description of their talks.

    • A recommended audience target.

  • The lead organizer must be a current Fellow of the Psychonomic Society.

  • Workshops are not meant to feature commercial products or services. If you are interested in promoting your company, products, and/or services at the meeting, please refer to the marketing opportunities outlined in the Exhibitor/Sponsor Prospectus.

  • You must submit your proposal using the online submission form. Proposals sent by email will not be considered. You will not be able to return to the proposal to edit it after it is submitted, though minor changes will be accepted after the submission deadline if your proposal is selected.

  • All workshop proposals will be reviewed by the Program Committee.

  • The workshop submission deadline is July 31, 2017.

  • Notifications will be emailed to lead presenters in August 2017.

Scheduling/Room Availability

  • Workshops are held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. on the Friday or Saturday of the Annual Meeting and generally attendance is limited based on meeting room size and availability.

 Financial Support/Fees

  • There are no charges for attendees.

  • There is no financial support for speaker travel or housing.

  • The Psychonomic Society will provide a basic coffee break (coffee, tea, decaf) for participants.

  • The Psychonomic Society will provide a screen, LCD projector, and microphone.

This initiative should not be confused with the Leading Edge Workshop program. If you have questions, please contact the Member Service Center at info@psychonomic.org or via the phone at +1 608-441-1070.
