Instructions for Switching between On-Site and Virtual Presentations
Talks: October 10th deadline All talks, whether presented on-site in Boston or online, will be given live. There will be no prerecorded talks this
year.
All spoken presenters were asked to confirm their presentation format (on-site in Boston or virtual) by August 3rd. Any presenter who did not indicate whether they would present on-site or virtually was
automatically assigned an on-site presentation in Boston. To see whether you are scheduled to give your presentation on-site or virtually, login to your presenter portal using the link
in the presenter confirmation email you received on July 26th, or contact Member Services at info@psychonomic.org and
include your name and abstract title.
Spoken presenters may switch between on-site and virtual presentations until October 10th. Switches in presentation types require edits to the program and on-site
logistics. Because of this, presentation types may only be switched once. If you need to switch to an on-site or virtual presentation, please notify PS staff at info@psychonomic.org by
October 10th.
Posters All posters will be accessible online. On-site presenters will also present their posters live at a designated poster hall in Boston.
All poster presenters were asked to confirm their presentation format (on-site in Boston or virtual-only) by August 3rd. Any presenter who did not indicate whether they would present on-site or exclusively
virtually was automatically assigned an on-site presentation in Boston. To see whether you are scheduled to present your poster on-site or whether you will be presenting only a virtual
poster, login to your presenter portal using the link in the presenter confirmation email you received on July 26th, or contact Member Services at info@psychonomic.org and include your name and abstract title.
Switching from Virtual-Only to an On-Site Poster Presentation: August 23rd deadline Any poster presenter who is currently scheduled to present virtually
may switch to an in-person presentation by August 23rd. You must notify PS staff at info@psychonomic.org by August 23rd if you need to switch to an in-person presentation. Include
your name and abstract title with your request.
Switching from an On-Site Poster Presentation to Virtual-Only: October 10th deadline Any poster presenter who is currently scheduled to present
on-site in Boston may switch to a virtual-only poster until October 10th. To switch to a virtual-only poster, email PS staff at info@psychonomic.org by October 10th. Include
your name and abstract title in your request.
Structural Changes to Annual Meeting Program
As you make plans to attend in November, please note the structural changes listed below that will be implemented at this year's meeting. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to adapt our conference to best meet the needs of our members while honoring fiscal and budgetary restraints.
In Person Vs. Remote Attendance
The 2022 annual meeting will be hybrid, and the experience will be different for in person and remote attendees. If you are able to attend the meeting in person, we encourage you to do so. We have all
missed getting to see each other in person, and our first time back together in three years is sure to be memorable. However, if you can’t make it in person, we still want you to participate! Here’s
how the experience will vary:
Keynote Address
Live in Boston. Livestreamed around the world.
We are honored to welcome Jeremy M. Wolfe (Harvard Medical School/Brigham & Women’s Hospital, USA) as the 2022 Keynote Speaker. He
will present live at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. Remote attendees will also be able to watch the keynote address via a livestream. The keynote will also be available on demand on the conference website
beginning eight hours after its scheduled time in the program.
Symposia
Live in Boston. Livestreamed around the world. Our 2022 symposia will be presented live in Boston. Presenters who are on-site will give their
presentations to a live audience. Remote presenters will be telecasted to the Boston audience and will also present live. There will be no prerecorded symposium presentations this year. Remote attendees
will be able to watch all symposia via a livestream. All symposia will be available on demand on the conference website beginning eight hours after their scheduled time in the program.
Spoken Presentations
Live in Boston. Available on demand eight hours after their scheduled program time. All spoken presenters giving a talk
are encouraged to present live in Boston, but will have the option to present remotely from anywhere in the world if necessary. All talks will be given live; there will be no prerecorded talks this year.
Presenters who are on-site will give their presentations to a live audience, followed by a live Q&A. Remote presenters will be telecasted to the Boston audience and will also present live, followed
by a live Q&A. Remote attendees will be able to watch all talks on demand on the conference website beginning eight hours after their scheduled time in the program.
Poster Presentations
Live in Boston. Available on the conference website for the duration of the conference. All poster presenters, whether attending the
meeting in person or remotely, will be required to upload a copy of their poster to the conference website three weeks prior to the meeting. They may also choose to include a video or audio presentation
(max length: 5 minutes). Posters and recorded presentations will be available on the conference website for the duration of the meeting and will be accessible to all in person and remote attendees.
Poster presenters are encouraged to attend the meeting in person if possible. Poster presenters who participate in the on-site meeting in Boston will be assigned to a poster hall hour, where they will be required to be physically present. In person attendees
have full access to the poster hall hours.
Remote attendees will not have access to the live poster hall hours or the live poster presentations, but they can peruse posters online at any time by visiting the conference website. Attendees can also post comments and questions online for poster presenters.
Poster presenters will receive a notification of comments and questions and can reply or make arrangements to connect directly to continue the conversation.
Our Commitment To Keeping the 2022 Annual Meeting Free for Members As you can see, our conference continues to evolve. All in person attendees will have immediate access to the full program. Remote attendees will have access to all talks, but will only be able to watch the keynote address and symposia live.
Unfortunately, hybrid meetings are quite expensive. While we would love to livestream all meeting content to remote attendees, the costs to do so are prohibitive. In the interest of keeping this meeting free for PS members, we have created a scenario
where all presentations will be accessible to all attendees, but on demand access to talks will operate on a slightly delayed schedule. Thank you for your understanding as we continue to adapt our meeting
structure to best meet the needs of our members while recognizing and honoring budgetary restraints.
Health & Safety
The safety of our members and meeting attendees is our top priority. Health & Safety Requirements apply to all participants who will be on site at our 2022 Annual Meeting, November 17–20, 2022, at the Boston Sheraton Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In accordance with CDC and local guidelines, COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended of all attendees (unless there is a medical exception), and all attendees are recommended to wear face coverings when indoors at the conference facilities (unless eating or drinking).

Abstract Acceptance Letters Acceptance letters were sent to all spoken and poster presenters on July 26th. If you did not receive a notification email, please check your spam folder. If you still did not receive an email, and/or if you have questions about your submission, please contact Member Services at info@psychonomic.org or +1 847-375-3696 and include your name and the title of your abstract.
Registration
All attendees must register. Registration includes access to the keynote address and all symposia, talks, poster sessions, and
networking events. Registration will be accepted on a rolling basis through the end of the conference; however, attendees are strongly encouraged to register well in advance in order to avoid long registration
lines on site and delays in access to the conference website.
Statement on Harassment The Psychonomic Society is an inclusive and welcoming organization, and our meeting should reflect those values. Conference attendees and visitors should enjoy
freedom of speech, freedom of thought, and freedom from harassment of all kinds. Recent events in the media remind us that academic settings are where we must be especially vigilant. As a scientific
society, we do not want to police behavior, nor do we wish to dampen the professional and personal interactions that are so important to our meeting. But we do encourage members to take into account
others’ perspectives and consider how a question, comment, or invitation might be received when there is a power differential between parties. No attendee should feel vulnerable to harassment at our
meetings, or feel that they are enduring a climate of fear or hostility. Let’s all work together to ensure that our values of inclusion, respect, and professionalism are philosophies that are enjoyed
by all of our members and attendees.
Special Assistance The Psychonomic Society wishes to ensure that no individual is excluded because of the absence of auxiliary aids or services identified in the Americans with Disabilities Act.
If you require special assistance at the meeting, please complete the appropriate section of the online registration form or e-mail meetings@psychonomic.org.
Program and Conference Organization The Secretary, Reed Hunt, has the responsibility for organizing the program, and the Program Committee reviews
all submissions. They do so with the indispensable help of Lou Shomette, Executive Director; Michelle Whitworth, Director of Meetings; Tiffany Aurora, Director of Communications & Marketing;
Peggy Doherty, Director of Membership & Operations; Angie Forbes, Director of Digital Learning Strategy; Natalia Kot, Registration Specialist; Kaitlin Leverenz, Meetings Administrator; Jerrod Liveoak,
Senior Manager, Editorial & Content; Jim Cavanaugh, Senior Sales Manager; Phyllis Milz, Finance Manager; Julie Rogers, Editorial Staff; and Timothy Utesch, Graphic Designer.
