Marek Špinka Marek Špinka is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Animal Science in Prague and Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the Charles University in Prague. He earned a PhD in Animal Science from the Czech University of Life Science. His work spans animal behavior, comparative psychology, and animal welfare, with a main research focus on social behavior including play, synchronization, and dominance on emotions and their implications for animal welfare and on within-species and between-species acoustic communication. He is the author of over 80 articles and book chapters. He served as the president of the International Society for Applied Ethology.
