Ivy DefoeIvy Defoe is a member of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Psychonomic Society. She is currently a post-doctoral researcher at Annenberg Public Policy Center (University of Pennsylvania), where she does research on adolescent risk behaviors. In November 2016, Dr. Defoe obtained her PhD (Cum Laude) at the Developmental Psychology department of Utrecht University in the Netherlands. She did her PhD internships at the Affective Neuroscience and Development Lab (Harvard University) via a Fulbright scholarship, and at the Institute of Criminology (University of Cambridge), via a Utrecht University Travel Grant. Her PhD project was funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), and it was entitled: “The Puzzle of Adolescent Risk Taking: An Experimental-Longitudinal Investigation of Individual, Social and Cultural Influences”. Prior to her PhD, she earned a clinical master’s degree at the VU University Amsterdam. She did her clinical internship at a residential treatment facility for youth with severe behavior problems (e.g., conduct disorder), and received her basic psychodiagnostics certification.
