Todd GureckisTodd M. Gureckis is an Associate Professor of Psychology at New York University. He received a B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin in 2001, and a Ph.D. in psychology, also from University of Texas at Austin, in 2005. From 2005–2007 he was a post-doctoral research associate at Indiana University as part a NIH Cognitive Modeling Training Grant. He is the author of over 70 research articles and was awarded the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers from the Obama White House in 2015. His research interests focus on active and self-directed learning, decision-making, concept and category learning, the cognitive neuroscience of learning and memory, reasoning, innovative applications of crowdsourcing technology to behavioral sciences, and general computational approaches to modeling human behavior.
