Nelson Cowan (Ph.D. 1980, University of Wisconsin) is Curators’ Distinguished Professor at the University of Missouri and incoming Editor of the Journal of Experimental Psychology: General. His research focuses on immediate and short-term working memory, its relation to selective attention, and its childhood development. He enjoys family outings, playing sports, fiction and nonfiction reading, and diverse music.
