Erin Buchanan’s research focuses on the use of data and methods in computational linguistics and the application of statistical methodology to clinical research, pedagogy, and data science. She has authored nearly 100 manuscripts and book chapters on these topics. She runs a statistics and programming focused YouTube channel for open educational purposes and has published multiple open-source packages/projects for community use. She serves as an Associate Director in the Psychological Science Accelerator – a global network of research labs – and is a leader in the field of big-team science working on projects and infrastructure. She is on the editorial board of a fully open journal, Meta-Psychology, works as a consulting editor for Assessment, and has reviewed for cognitive, methodological, and open-science journals. She is the Executive Director for the Society for Computation in Psychology (SCiP), which has published with Behavior Research Methods over the last 50 years. With SCiP and her university, she partners with women in STEM programs to advocate for diversity and opportunities in the computational sciences.
