Collaborative Symposium at ESCoP 2025

The Psychonomic Society (PS) invites proposals for its 2025 Collaborative Symposium. This event will take place during the 24th conference of the European Society for Cognitive Psychology (ESCoP). The symposium will be held during the meeting, September 3-5, 2025, at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom. Researchers interested in participating are encouraged to submit their proposals for consideration. Proposals that are not accepted will be passed on to the program committee at ESCoP for further consideration. Purpose: To strengthen communication and collaboration between PS and international cognitive and experimental psychology societies through an annual topical symposium.
Support: Organizers (must be PS members) receive up to $5,000 USD for symposium expenses. The organizer decides what expenses will be covered, but generally the support is used for airfare and/or hotels. Conference registration fees are usually covered by the symposium participants.
Selection Criteria:
- Scientific quality and future impact
- Recent breakthroughs and/or highlights
- Fit with conference program
Symposium Format:
- 4-5 papers
- 1 hour 40 minutes allotted
- Speakers can be non-PS members and from overseas
- Preference given to non-EU proposals
Proposal Requirements:
- Organizer's name and PS membership number (Must be a current, PS member)
- Speakers are not required to be PS members
- Symposium title (25 words max)
- Symposium purpose and theme (250 words max)
- Symposium abstract (150 words max)
- List of confirmed/interested speakers and affiliations
- For each talk:
- Title (25 words max)
- Abstract (150 words max)
Submission:
- Email one PDF to Lou Shomette, PS Executive Director, by November 14, 2024
- Notifications of acceptance will be made by December 15, 2024
- Proposals that are not accepted by PS will be forwarded to ESCoP for consideration
