Eric-Jan (EJ) Wagenmakers is Professor at the Psychological Methods Unit of the University of Amsterdam. He has been mentored by Ritske de Jong, Jeroen Raaijmakers, Rich Shiffrin, Roger Ratcliff, and Han van der Maas. EJ has served as action-editor for Psychonomic Bulletin & Review, Cognitive Psychology, and the Journal of Mathematical Psychology. EJ has published a course book on Bayesian cognitive modeling (with Michael D. Lee) and the children’s book “Bayesian Thinking for Toddlers” (https://psyarxiv.com/w5vbp/). He has edited the Methodology volume of Stevens' Handbook of Experimental Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience. EJ has worked on memory models, response time models, long-range correlations in psychological time series, and models of reinforcement learning. He has been a staunch advocate of Bayesian inference and of Open Science procedures such as preregistration, multi-analyst projects, and scientific transparency in general. Together with his collaborators he has initiated and coordinated the development of JASP (jasp-stats.org), an open-source software program with an intuitive graphical user interface that offers both classical and Bayesian inference methods. EJ has published over 290 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
