2022 Annual Meeting Health & Safety

The Psychonomic Society is committed to hosting a safe and meaningful Annual Meeting in Boston. We are following all current CDC guidelines as well as those of state and local authorities in Massachusetts during the meeting. We recognize these may change over time as conditions change in Boston or elsewhere.

As of October 6, 2022:

The safety of our members and meeting attendees is our top priority. Health & Safety Requirements apply to all participants who will be on site at our 2022 Annual Meeting, November 17–20, 2022, at the Boston Sheraton Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. In accordance with CDC and local guidelines, COVID-19 vaccinations are recommended of all attendees (unless there is a medical exception), and all attendees are recommended to wear face coverings when indoors at the conference facilities (unless eating or drinking).

We also encourage you to get your annual flu shot at least 14 days before the meeting, so it can have its full effect. For those traveling from outside the United States, please be aware of restrictions placed on your country of origin, as travelers from some countries are required to quarantine for two weeks.

However, despite our good faith efforts to minimize exposure to COVID-19, we cannot guarantee against potential exposure to and spread of COVID-19 at the Annual Meeting. Please keep in mind that attendees' use of masks outside of the Annual Meeting facilities may vary.

For questions or comments, please email us at meetings@psychonomic.org .

Attendee Agreement: Health & Safety Requirements

The following Attendee Agreement: Health & Safety Requirements applies to all participants who will be attending in person the 2022 Annual Meeting. This agreement is subject to change without notice.

As an event participant, I understand that on-site requirements will reflect the current federal, state, and local guidelines, which can change at any time, and I agree to adhere to those guidelines. I also agree to the following:

Daily Health Self-Monitoring

  • If I begin to experience COVID-19 symptoms (typically include fever, cough, and shortness of breath), I will recuse myself from the meeting and self-isolate. I will contact my physician and follow their guidance.

  • I will notify PS staff if I test positive for COVID-19 while at the conference.

  • Registrants understand and acknowledge that at every instance they join an in-person event at the Annual Meeting, they are affirming that they are not experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.

    Sanitization and Hygiene

  • I will maintain personal hygiene, including washing my hands frequently and social distancing where appropriate.

    Face Coverings

  • I understand that it is recommended to wear a face covering while indoors (except when actively presenting research, eating, or drinking). Face masks should cover both the mouth and nose. We ask that participants honor the requests of others to mask up and/or maintain physical distancing.

    COVID-19 Vaccinations

  • I understand that it is strongly recommend that I be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the time of the conference. A list of vaccines that are currently acceptable to U.S. authorities is  here.

Follow All Signage and Direction from Staff

  • I understand that health and safety requirements may change at any time, and agree to follow all signage and direction from staff. PS has adjusted our meeting layout with your health and safety in mind. These adaptations have been made in the spirit of creating a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for our meeting attendees.

    Respect Personal Boundaries

  • I agree to respect the personal boundaries of others at the meeting, such as requests for social distancing and face coverings.

I hereby release and waive the rights for myself and any guests that accompany me to the conference facilities, and do forever discharge, indemnify, and hold harmless PS, its officers, officials, employees, volunteers, and/or other representatives of and from any claims, liabilities, actions, damages, costs, or expenses of any kind arising out of, in connection with, or relating to attending or participating in the conference including, without limitation, any illness (exposure, infection, and/or spread of an infectious disease, including COVID-19), damages, or injury whatsoever resulting in traveling to and/or attending and/or entering onto premises at the conference. I understand and agree that this waiver includes, without limitation, any claims based on the actions, errors, omissions, or negligence of PS, its officers, officials, employees, volunteers, and/or other representatives, whether a condition giving rise to any claims occurred before, during, or after traveling to and/or attending and/or entering onto premises at the conference.

I have carefully read and fully understand this waiver agreement and freely and knowingly assume the risk and waive the rights for myself and any guests that accompany me to the venue, to be bound by all terms and conditions described above.
