NSF Symposium Celebrates 70th Anniversary
Earlier this month, the National Science Foundation (NSF) hosted a 70th Anniversary Symposium to reflect on the past, celebrate accomplishments, consider the current scientific landscape, and look towards the future.
During one panel, former NSF directors were asked to describe a memorable experience during their time as director. Dr. Walter Massey spoke on his experience in developing the Social, Behavioral, and Economic (SBE) Sciences directorate. Read more »

Opportunity to Comment on Proposed Changes to Open-Access Policies
As previously reported by FABBS, the scientific community had been hearing rumors about an executive order (EO) that would require journals featuring federally funded research to be immediately open access. Many scientific societies are committed to open science and actively moving in that direction, however, the lack of details surrounding the mysterious EO created concerns about the process and timeline. COGDOP 2020 Annual Meeting
The Council of Graduate Departments of Psychology (COGDOP) met for their annual meeting February 20 -23 in St. Petersburg, Florida, bringing together about 100 chairs of psychology departments from around the country. The theme of the meeting was “Leadership in an Inclusive Academy.” Read more »
