After significant delays in passing government funding legislation for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22), Congressional appropriators are now busy crafting FY23 spending bills. Bipartisan meetings have already begun, and leaders have expressed optimism that Congress will complete work on FY23 funding before the end of the fiscal year on September 30. Read more »

 

The National Science Board (NSB) held a hybrid meeting on May 5, the first with an in-person component since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NSB is a 25-member body that oversees the National Science Foundation (NSF). Board Vice Chair Victor R. McCray welcomed board members and attendees for a packed agenda.Read more »

 

On April 27 and 28, the SBE Initiative hosted a virtual conference to showcase initial findings and results, with a focus on understanding and addressing the impact on first responders, populations with health disparities, and those with medical and social vulnerabilities most impacted by the pandemic. The webinar provided interesting and meaningful opportunities for researchers to hear from one another and engage across disciplines and topics. Read more »

 

FABBS congratulates the undergraduate students and their mentors in the behavioral and brain sciences featured in the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Posters on the Hill 2022. The annual event, which took place virtually on April 26-27, celebrates the impressive work of the accepted students across academic disciplines and supports the message of the importance of undergraduate research at the federal level.Read more »

 

Congratulations to Dr. Radoslaw Cichy on receiving the 2022 FABBS Early Career Impact Award, as nominated by theVision Sciences Society (VSS).
