We are happy to announce that CR:PI has been accepted in ESCI, Clarivate Analytics’ new database! Clarivate Analytics, formerly Thompson Reuters/ISI, are the gatekeepers and stewards of the Impact Factor and Web of Science, among other things.
The ESCI, or Emerging Sources Citation Index is a multidisciplinary index for peer-reviewed, English-language journals, that publish articles on a regular basis, follow best practices for ethics, and have a ‘sufficient’ number of references and citations. They decide what is ‘sufficient’. It was founded in 2015 to expand the coverage of Web of Science.
So, what does this mean? ESCI is seen as the first step towards an Impact Factor. It is a signal that Clarivate is aware of and interested in the journal. Moreover, beginning in 2018, all CRPI articles will now be fully indexed in the Web of Science, making then more ‘discoverable’ and citable.
Keep sending us your papers! We would love to have your next, use-inspired empirical study. We would also love your review of a topic, explaining the connections between the lab and the world. If you have an idea for such a review, drop me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Step up and support the new Psychonomics journal. CR:PI needs you.
