Black in Psych Week: March 21-27, 2021

Black in Psych was founded as a platform to promote visibility, community, and networking opportunities between Black professionals and trainees across the field of psychology. We week to celebrate, amplify, and support Black voices in psychology and to encourage dialogue around the intersections of psychology, race, social justice, and equity.

Black in Psych has organized "Black in Psych Week," a weeklong virtual event taking place Sunday March 21st to Saturday March 27th. The event will include Twitter engagement with daily themes for Black psychologists to respond to, including a role call to introduce themselves, funniest misconception when introducing oneself as a psychologist, and what Black psychologists do to foster their own resilience. There will be two discussion panels, one of the panelists' journeys to and through psychology with Drs. Rihana Mason, Gwenna Blanden, and Duane Watson, and another discussion the decolonization of research with Drs. Cheryl Talley, Linda James Myers, and Dawn Edge. These panels are open to all, and registration information will be released later in the week of March 15th.
