Abstract
A principle of embodiment is that cognition is a simulation process that taps neural and bodily systems of action, perception, and emotion. This principle has been demonstrated in multiple, basic research projects using both behavioral paradigms and neurophysiological measurements. I will briefly review some of this research and then describe how the research can (and has) been used to design effective educational interventions in three domains: reading, mathematics, and physics.
